Please give us a short summary of your website?
BTAQ provides free classified ads for street and dirt bike as well as custom trikes and off-road quads. There are also categories for used parts and accesories.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Being an off-road enthusiast, I have owned multiple dirt bikes, a Honda ATC, and numerous four wheeled ATV's (or quads). Due to rough terrain and overall rough riding these vehicles require almost constant repair. Sometimes repair isn't an option so purchasing a used replacement can be more economical. Online classifieds are a great forum for locating these bikes, trikes, or quads. I thought it would be a good idea to launch a free system for the general public to use.
Do you advertise only complete vehicles are can you post parts also?
There are categories for both complete vehicles as well as various parts categories for those who wish to buy, sell, or trade spare parts.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
The name actually sums up the content. It's actually very basic.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
I like to think free access with no account necessary makes this site more accessible and easier then other classified sites. Its free to post ads as well as respond to the ads.
What is your eventual goal with the site?
I'd like to see it nationally recognized as a leader in the advertising of used bikes, trikes, and quads. After all, the service is free.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success so far?
The ads are displayed free and the only income from the site is from the small ads that are sprinkled among the classifieds. This works well for me, the website visitors, and those merchants being advertised.
If you had an unlimited development budget, how would you change your site?
I'd like to promote BTAQ with some national print advertising. I think it would work wonders for PR.
If your site got really big, would you be able to keep up with the visitor's demand?
The site is 90% automated and the system works like a well oiled machine. I would welcome the extra traffic.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
We do well using search engines and word-of-mouth in various motorcycle and atv forums.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It has been more fun than I would have expected. Thee has been no stress whatsoever.
Have you used your own site yet?
Actually I have... I purchased a set of quad tires and had them shipped to my home. The price was right and the tires fit perfect. It turned out to be a great deal on some used rubber just like I had hoped.
