When did you start your website and why?
The web offers fast and accurate results when searching for a business or training center, so it makes sence to have a web site and open up an easy avenue for people to find your business.
Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc
N-Depth Scuba is a Chandler, Arizona local business owned by PADI certified dive instructors. We offer sales, service, rental and dive travel along with training from open water through instructor development.
What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?
It is time consuming for people with little or no experience. We now have a web designer to help us, but we do as much as we can so we can continue to learn more about the web and it's awesome power!
What has been the easist part of operating your website?
Using easy to use hosts and directories like this one.
What was your biggest mistake?
Not starting this sooner! Owning a dive shop and going on dive trips is living the dream!
Who maintains your website and why?
Our web designer, James. Because he understands how to talk and write in computer and html language...that was big for me to even say.
Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?
People can find us by doing a simple search from home, work or even their hand held devices. That makes us accessible to everyone with a computer or connection.
What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?
We do ecommerce and we see it as the wave of the future. Either jump aboard, or be left behind.
What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?
For a business, SEO makes sence to get out there and get noticed. Those who don't do their homework will fall behind.
What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?
Helped! We get connected everyday with new search engines and directories. It makes it easier to find us...no one uses the phone book anymore, it is too easy to type and click to find what you need.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
News letters sent via e-mail, by far. It is a fast way to connect and keep people informed. Everyone loves getting new mail, and if it is related to your hobby...well, that's even better!
What method has been least successful for promoting your website?
Magazine adds. poor.
What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?
Well, less crime of course. It makes it hard for those of us who are trying to do the right thing, to keep from getting attacked via virius or worms. But hey, no challange, no benefit right?
