    Name of your website?

    rcpak.com

    Your name?

    Salman Dard

    Your Location (city, etc)

    Islamabad

Please give us a short summary of your website?

This site is about the radio controlled model hobby in pakistan. This includes aeromodelling, radio controlled cars and boats. The site contains information on where to start, location and contact details of all the shops and clubs, a discussion forum, picture gallery and links to internation websites that contain wealth of information.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I am a aeromodeller myself, when I started this hobby I had trouble getting information on where to start, what to buy how to buy. It took me some time to actually gather this information so I thought that others should not suffer the way I did so decided to make this website.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

    in 2007

How did you decide on a name for your website?

rc stands for radio control and PAK stands for obviousely Pakistan. I was looking for a small domain name which should be easy to remember. Found www.rcpak.com and just went for it.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

Actually there is no other website like this in Pakistan so the information that is available is quite unique. Secondly, I came up with the code of conduct e.g. not to violate the copyrights (CoC is available on the site) I am religiouly following this code of conduct and I believe this will differencitate rcpak.com from the rest of the pakistani website.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

help promote this hobby in Pakistan. It is definately not to earn money. I and advertising google ads but trust me I am spending approx. 100 times more from my own pocket.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I have handled all of the development myself. I do not consider myself an expert so it was learning and applying at the same time.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

In this case I would be looking into hiring staff to manage it. However I expect that most of the contents now will come from the users.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Taking time out to set up this website. secondly, I started this site about two years back making really senior people come to this site is a challange. They still consider me a newbie in aeromodelling. Most of the user are actually new to this hobby.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

    Wod of mouth!

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

    Well yes!

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

for about 2 year and plan to continue it as loog as possible.

    What is your website address?

    rcpak.com
