Turtle River Whitetails Interview

By Interviewer at 05/25/09 12:45

Name of your website?

Turtle River Whitetails

Your name?

Richard Bailey

Your Location (city, etc)

Meadow Lake

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Saskatchewan's finest whitetail deer outfitter. We produce for our clients every year we do not make excuses! Our clients come as clients but they leave as friends. We have an extremely large repeat business.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Costs and the challenge of doing it myself. I did what others did not do. My site is very unique and not a clone of others.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

2006 www.bigdeer.org

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Very near Turtle River Saskatchewan. Often people hear of a certain geographic location and relate that to what they might have read or heard concerning their interests.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

I did it! It is a one of a kind not a generic clone. I understand what clients are looking for in a website based on constant inquiries about what they want to find in a website. People are tired of all the glitz and pop-ups they just want good information.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Keep it for the business to be listed as another asset when I eventually sell.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Extremely well. I enjoy doing it and it only takes a few hours each week to maintain. I prefer the personal touch and so do my clients.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

No changes would be made at this time. I am very satisfied and so are my clients. I poll every client to see what they are looking for in a website.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes it would not be a problem because I am limited by the Government on the amount of clients each year.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

None because I planned things out very carefully before I started.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Answering this just to maybe get some more exposure.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Internet search engines and the usage of good keywords along with constant updating.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It has not and if anything it has been much easier than I expected.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Since 2006 and I will run it as long as I own the business

Replace this with a question of your own

I wonder why they have this question as a part of the process to complete this questionnaire?

What is your website address?
